Boogie Wonderland

So since the ultrasound this afternoon "Boogie Wonderland" has been playing through my head.  Huge relief to see the heart beat immediately and the little bub is growing nicely!

Although we are 9wks6days, bub is measuring at 10wks2days, checking in at 33mm. For some weird reason I keep calling the baby "he", I've had 3-4 dreams of a baby boy, and one last week of a girl, who knows but it's difficult staying gender neutral while chatting about the little one (lo).

LO was dancing up a storm, the hands were waving around their face, and legs were all over the place, I figure that lo has picked up daddies natural dancing abilities.  It was so surreal watching lo dance all around on the screen, and that heart beat sound can not be beaten.  We recorded the hb, and plan on breaking the news to both sets of parents this weekend!

For my parents, I'm planning on showing them the pictures of the fruit and asking them if they can see the link, then playing the hb and showing the u/s pic - all via skype.  DH will call and tell his parents - I am more excited about his aunts and grandmas reaction.

I have a strained relationship with my MIL and SIL, last time we announced to them SIL first response was "are you happy about it?" to DH, and my MIL managed a weak "congratulations" followed by "it better be a girl"...  Telling them makes me very anxious.

We had already planned to visit his aunts/grandma for xmas 2012, so we plan to breaking the news as we hate to be rude, but we are bringing someone with us next xmas... I think they will love it :)

Now we are released from the RE to my doctor - it seems odd, but Dr. H gave me a big hug and was all smiley and asked us to come back and visit with lo.

I've never gotten to this stage before, and I'm delighted, I will take each day as it comes, and from here on it will be all positivity and happiness (with occasional bouts of anxiety but quickly covered up).  We are doing the NT blood work and getting the scan set for within the next month, I'm still not certain on the amnio so we will wait and see how the NT results are first.

First ultrasound

7 weeks today, and we had our first ultrasound at Dr. H's office.

My morning sickness has been playing up and to make me a very classy patient, I nearly vomited in the office complexes bin... luckily I was able to contain myself...  Once in the office, a woman came in drenched in perfume - it was crazy intense and again the nausea rose to the surface, the office has strict no scent policies so I was surprised no-one said anything to her...

Anyways we got taken into an exam room, exactly at our appt time, and then were left sitting for 30 mins.  Something you should not do to an anxious pregnant woman is lock her in a hot stuffy room, half naked with a u/s machine.  I managed to resist the urge to scan myself, but only just!

Dr. H finally arrived and we were ready to begin.  The scan shows one perfect little bean and we got to hear and see the heart beat, I must admit a few tears managed to escape at that beautiful elusive sound.  We got a picture of the bean, and the bean plus h/b sound wave.  We did not get measurements other than the baby is 11mm at present, and the h/b was strong.

We will go back in at 10weeks (well 9wks 6days) for a follow-up u/s before being released to my regular doctor.  I called my Doctor today and made an appt for the 21st, they asked my due date, and I have 2 conflicting dates from the REs office, the first given was 28June and the 2nd was 2ndJuly (both before the u/s), so not sure what is going on, but I figure none of these dates will most likely be right anyways ;)

For now I am over the moon.  I feel hugely relieved that the first hurdle is over!

Early Beta

This morning I tested with a FRER and my beautiful 2nd line showed up at the same time as the control line.  It's stunning.  DH & I are over the moon, I called my clinical co-ordinator and she wanted us to go in for Beta early.

So my blood has been drawn and now I wait for the lab results...  **Update ** Lab results are in beta today at 12dpo is 73 :) I do a repeat on Friday!  73 for 12dpo that sounds pretty good to me!!!

I told my dad today, with strict no telling instructions till the u/s, and he cried.  I have never felt so small in such a long time, he sobbed and cuddled me and I sobbed too.  It felt like I released 2 1/2 years of pent up emotions in one go, I feel lighter and full of joy.

Here's to this feeling continuing.
